Domestic violence doesn't end when a woman escapes. The journey to freedom is only the beginning. Most survivors leave their abusers with nothing—no money, no belongings, no safety net.
What should be a sanctuary often feels cold, transactional, or even degrading. Women who have already been stripped of their worth are met with environments that inadvertently reinforce the same message their abusers spent years programming: You don't matter. You're not worthy.
Emotionally Vulnerable
Years of manipulation, gaslighting, and abuse have left deep psychological wounds that require gentle, intentional care to begin healing.
Financially Unstable
Without access to funds, credit, or employment history, she faces an uphill battle to secure housing, transportation, and basic necessities.
Spiritually Wounded
Her faith, her sense of purpose, and her belief in goodness have been shaken to the core by prolonged trauma and betrayal.
Identity Fractured
She has forgotten who she is beyond the abuse. Her identity, dreams, and self-worth have been systematically dismantled.

In 2006, Alana de la Cruz escaped an abusive marriage with nothing but her life and her faith. The donated items she received echoed the same lie abuse had spoken over her for years: "You are not worthy."
That brokenness became a blueprint for something better. Today, Alana has transformed her trauma into a mission to ensure that no woman rebuilds her life surrounded by reminders of brokenness.
